Naming Standards - Identify Optics By Name

All optics follow an A B C naming format, it's designed to give users the footprint of the optic, the general "line"... For example all Wolf optics are RMR footprint & have about the same size window, all CAT optics are carry sized RMSc footprint. Novel information about the reticle which may include if it's good for astigmatism, the color, and notable features which may/may not include dot size. Lastly, it includes the duty designation, for professional users to determine how durable and suitable the optic is for their use.

This is done so familiar users can easily tell what an optic is from the name and so optics that are not alike do not share the same name.

A B C

A = line

  • CAT = Flagship RSMc

  • FROG = RSMc

  • Shark = DPP

  • Cobra = Doctor

  • Wolf = Flagship RMR

  • all others(for right now) = RMR

B = reticle info, these can be added together for examples X-G = green, multiple reticle or G-SRS8 = green, STIG-RS 8 MOA

  • X = Multiple reticle

  • If left empty, it's default color, red, no designation needed

  • G = Green

  • SRS*=(STIG-RS)Astigmatism Relief System * MOA reticle

  • FLEX = Multi-reticle dot-to-dot(MOA's listed in description)

C = Duty designation

  • PRO = Basic grade for professional use, has lockout, increased reticle brightness and longer life; some of these optics have seriously tough drop-proof ratings

  • *DG = Specifically, an advanced duty grade. This includes EDG (Enclosed, Duty Grade) & HDG (Heavy Duty Grade); these optics all have a drop-proof rating. What makes them special is that they are purpose-built for duty and are top recommendations for duty users.

NOTE: some older/base optics do not follow this naming scheme, for examples the CT2 Green or the Wolf2, which are technically STIG-RS

Some optics may have "empty" fields, for examples the CAT PRO has an empty "B" field, it's a basic red dot, or the Chameleon SRS8 with an empty "C" field, which does not have a duty designation.

New optic lines are coming that are not RMR, for example the FROG which will be an RMSc optic. All listings contain the footprint and MOA info on optics, so strict adherence to disclosure in the product name is not needed.
